Karin Elise Sturm has lived and worked in Vienna since 1990. Since then, he has created over 2,500 works. For a long time, her focus was on acrylic painting, into which she incorporated personal experiences and her love for the city of New York.
For several years, the artist worked on pencil, charcoal and ink drawings. Today, electronic drawings are mainly created on smartphones and tablets.
Since 2015, Karin Elise Sturm has been sewing bags, pouches, covers and various pictures and objects from textile materials such as leather, denim and ties from the 1970s.
She has been working as a volunteer for the Vienna 15 District Museum in Rudolfsheim Fünfhaus since 2019. She supports the PR team and is actively involved in the museum’s media activities as “Grätzlkorrespondentin Süd”. Karin Elise Sturm regularly conducts interviews with important people from the southern part of Vienna’s 15th district (Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus) on the district museum’s YouTube channel “Museum15-Channel”. Every month, the cultural podcast “Fünfzehn Minuten über den Fünfzehnten” features a “Grätzel-Flash” – short news items from Vienna’s Reindorfgassen area.

With a broken and cheap plastic telescope, which she calls (guerrilla telescope) “Gerry”, she succeeds – in addition to the moon and various double stars – in observing the rings of her favorite planet Saturn and these strong, optical impressions increasingly flow into the image worlds of the series of “Astro Digis” (digital drawings).
Karin Elise Sturm has been musically active as a soprano in the Vienna Complaints Choir since 2010 .
